A flirt with the wine

l'art pour l'art

No, sorry, we're old-fashioned about that. We expect art to be able to pick up and seduce. Curiosity, alienation, provocation ... But without a moral imperative! To do this, show degrees of freedom, enable development, explore new perspectives. Like with wine? Yes, like with wine. That's why the two of them go so well together.

Sculptures in the Uhlen

The farm road at the foot of the slope is predestined for this. Art objects in front of, on and in the archaic terrace landscape allow hikers, cyclists and winegrowers a variety of opportunities to meet. Our dream is slowly becoming a reality: the sculptor Thomas Röthel is considered one of the best in his field in Germany. He has been deeply connected with Winningen, with us and especially with the Uhlen for years. Its powerful steel sculpture comes into its own against the rocky backdrop of the old quarry. A little further downriver then the imposing work of Frank Knipp. He transformed an extremely hard, shining limestone into an oversized snail. Jura greet Devon!

Art days Winningen

Art in the winery

In addition to the art days, we are very happy to be able to win an artist for an exhibition in the courtyard of our winery every year. Here, the exhibits come into their own in contrast to the old industrial architecture. To be visited from July to October during the opening times of our vinotheque on Fridays and Saturdays from 11: oo h to 18: oo h.
